C7 Z06 Pulls the Wheels and Goes 9s with Just Bolt-Ons

Some say the late 60’s and early 70’s were the golden era of sports car performance, but I would strongly argue that we are living in the golden era of sports car performance right now. Never before could you walk into a dealership, drop the change for a new car, throw on some bolt-on modifications and sticky tires and rip off 9 second ET’s in the quarter.
Today, you can do just that. The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06, while not exactly cheap, rolls off the showroom with 650 horsepower on tap thanks to its 6.2 liter supercharged LT1 powerplant and a host of modern electronics that push the car into the 10-second zone in stock configuration. And if that weren’t enough power, a simple supercharger pulley swap, high-flow exhaust, and a tune can have you within a stones throw of that magical single-digit ET.
Throw in a few more minor bolt ons and you can do exactly what the Z06 seen here does: lift the front wheels, top the 135 MPH mark, and dip into the 9’s in the quarter! How badass is that!?
