On a day in and day out basis, the California Highway Patrol sees their fair share of accidents ranging in severity from a minor fender bender all the way up to brutal fatal collisions and everything in between. However, not too many of the accidents look like this.

From what we’re told by California news source, The Press Democrat, a CHP officer on the scene said that this is the “most severe” accident that he has ever seen and when you check out the video from the scene, you’ll have no problem seeing why he was willing to make such a substantial claim.

When you join the scene, you can immediately see carnage everywhere. The Chevrolet Impala sitting in front of the camera looks to have taken the hit pretty bad as half of it is on the street and the other half is lying up in the bushes. The Toyota SUV suffered some pretty insane damage as well. Even with all of the damage, I’d have to say that it looks like the integrity of the cars remained intact where it mattered most.

Both parties were injured, but thankfully, none of those injuries were life-threatening. When you see a scene like this, you almost immediately can’t help but get that feeling in your stomach that makes you fear the worst. It’s just a good thing that “the worst” wasn’t the case in this scenario.

Two people were injured in a crash near Cloverdale on Highway 101 Saturday. A CHP officer called it one of the "most severe" he had ever seen. Video submitted by Tom Bond. View photos and read the story here: po.st/L5tk6V
