Footage of Rear End in Action at the Drag Strip is Badass

We love it when racers get creative with their GoPro placement and get some excellent footage like this!

We can’t tell a whole lot about the car itself, but the video – posted on Facebook by Awesome Fords – is a great look at the insane RPM’s experienced by a driveshaft while making a pass down the drag strip. There is a reason driveshafts have to be very precisely balanced, and it’s because they spin up to 10,000 RPM and even the slightest imbalance can cause a severe vibration in the car.

This is also a great perspective to see the separation between the rear end housing and the body of the car, showing the suspension working to plant the tires and increase traction. And finally, if you look closely, you can see the chutes drop at the end of the run behind the car. Whoever decided to put the camera here, we thank you! This is some really cool footage!
