Guy Gets Sucked into a Jet Engine and Lives to Tell The Story!

When it comes to considering some of the most dangerous jobs in the world, being on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier and hooking up jets to be sent into the sky can be an occupation that ends up getting a little bit hairy. One false move and you can find yourself in a situation that’s truly life or death.

When JD bridges would get to work for just another day in his 2.5-year Navy career, this day would turn bad in a hurry as 9300 lbs of thrust was at the ready to try and chop JD to bits, but luckily, thanks to a few chance factors, he would be able to live to tell his story.

The horrifying sight was all captured on video as JD had moved just a little bit too far forward without being close enough to the ground and, as a result, the jet engine didn’t hesitate to suck him up. However, because his helmet and other safety equipment flew off of his body and into the engine, causing it to explode, the blades had slowed down and didn’t take the rest of his body. This was all in conjunction with the pilot thinking that he heard a noise and shutting everything down.

Situations like this show why it’s important for these guys to be prepared because once something happens, it’s probably too late. From the time that JD realized that he was being sucked up by the engine to when he was actually inside of it was probably less than a single second. After a situation like this, the whole protocol surrounding this duty would be changed forever.
