Homemade 3-D Printed Invention Allows People without Arm Control to Feed Themselves

In this day and age, with the technology that is available at our fingertips, there is so much more room for growth that’s it’s mind-boggling. We are all connected at such a high level that information is pretty much available within a couple of seconds of searching on the web and with tools like a 3-D printer, you can bring concepts to real life in just moments as they are literally synthesized in front of your eyes. All it takes is a good idea and with the right tools that aren’t too difficult to get together, you can create just about anything that you set your mind to.

In this one, we check out quite the use of a 3-D printer as this man may have no control over his arms but put together a stand that would essentially allow him to feed himself with a spoon. Before, the inventor says that he had to use a big bulky tray with scoops at the end and when it would come to eating things like soup, he couldn’t manage to do it by himself and had to have somebody feed him. He does say that feeding himself was possible before in some capacity but, with this invention, everything is so much easier to him as he can scoop up the liquid, spin the spoon around, and eat it all without any help.

If this isn’t something that’s an inspiration to go out there to build and create, I don’t know what is. Follow along with this invention down in the video below as its simplicity almost seems too good to be true. We have to applaud this man who saw an issue that many others are probably facing right along with him and used his smarts to come up with a solution that can help out every single day. After watching this clip, you might just realize that your excuses aren’t that valid, after all.
