Is carbon fiber really as strong as the racing industry makes it out to be?

If you are trying to source together a race car, durability, strength, and weight of material all come into play during your decision-making process.

That is precisely why carbon fiber tends to be such a popular building material as it hits on all of these axises and seems to satisfy the criteria well.

In this demonstration, though, we approach the question of how carbon fiber will stand up to the test when it is put it up against a hydraulic press, the killer of all materials.

Now, we get that when used properly carbon fiber like the samples used here will probably never have that amount of force exerted on it, but it’s still interesting to see how much of a fight it will put up to the bully of a machine. When it does succumb to the muscle offered up by the press, how exactly will it fold?

When it comes to questions like this, there is only one way to really find out so the Press Channel puts the inquiries to the test and the results, well, they might just disappoint you a little bit if you are a fan of the carbon.

Take a look at how they carried it all out in the video below and tell us if you think that the material held up the way you expected it to.
