John Cena Show off the Last Manual Shift Ferrari Ever Made, Is the Manual Trans Dying?

Back when I was a kid, I remember growing up and watching endless amounts of car movies, spectating as action heroes would shift cars and bang gears like they were untouchable behind the wheel. As a youngster, I couldn’t wait to grow up and be able to one day learn how to row the gears for myself. It was an addiction to the manual transmission that made it seem like the driver and car where one as the man or woman behind the wheel would be able to really have their grasp on the car and how it performed. I share the story because I feel like I’m nowhere near alone in this admiration that started as a youngster, growing a love for the stick shift.

Now, back in the day, the stick shift might have been plentiful in cars cluttering the roadways but, as the days go on, fewer and fewer people actually know how to drive one and the number of folks who appreciate them is dwindling as well. I guess that people just don’t get that mystique anymore for banging gears and being one with their performance machine. Heck, even the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a car that never came with an automatic over the years of its production, has since been fitted with the option for an automatic in the C7 rendition of the car.

This time, we take a minute to check out the last living version of a manual shift Ferrari ever made. For those who are big fans of wrestling, John Cena, as you probably know, has an infatuation for cars just like us but if you weren’t aware, welcome to the show. In this episode of “Auto Geek,” Cena takes us for a ride in one of his Ferraris, the Ferrari F430 Spyder, the Last Ferrari to ever have the option to be manually shifted. If that doesn’t tell you that manual gearboxes are dying, I don’t know what would.

Follow along in the video below as Cena takes us for a ride, telling us how he never really liked the 483hp F430 but eventually ended up falling in love with it, along with comparing it to his 360. At the end of the day, given that it’s the last manually shifted Ferrari, it will become a piece of history no matter how good or bad it might be. How does this car stack up in the collection of one of the biggest wrestlers to ever hit that squared circle? It’s time to find out just that!
