Just a word of advice to those of you who are new in the world of racing. When you head out there and go up against something that looks like it might not be fast, there’s a really good chance that it is. When you’re drag racing, you really need to keep your eyes peeled because people will set out and try to build something that’s fast but really doesn’t look like it. This phenomenon that is known as the “sleeper” is really one I can sneak up on you and bite you. As spectators, something like this is really a lot of fun to watch but to the unsuspecting opponent, it can really sting. There’s just something about seeing a machine that was built to be economical as it is transformed into something that can walk past just about anything on race day.
This time, that sleeper just so happens to come in the form of a Volkswagen Golf, a car that doesn’t look like it would hurt a fly but once he gets out there and lines up with this Lamborghini Huracán, it shows everybody exactly why you shouldn’t sleep on anything. Straight off of the line, the Volkswagen launches incredibly hard, taking off from the start and never looking back as it absolutely leaves behind the six figure exotic car in the dust. Now, you have to have an immense amount of respect for both of the cars pictured here because they would certainly make a good addition to just about anybody collection but the way that this race unfolded really is enough to leave you in awe.
Check out the video below that takes you on the scene as this unlikely matchup unfolds in an even more unlikely way. After watching these two machines going at each other in an all out drag race, be sure to tell us what you think of this match up for yourself. Did you see this one coming or were you as surprised as most other people would be in a situation like this that has that shows the Lambo being taken down by something that you can grab at a fraction of the price?
