NASCAR – Relive Austin Dillon’s first Daytona 500 victory

When it comes to the world of motorsports, for those who are into stock car racing, the Daytona 500 is the biggest stage of them all. Many call it the Super Bowl of NASCAR and while it doesn’t necessarily seal a championship, being able to take home the checkered flag at the race that has become the biggest and most substantial in the sport is one item that every last driver who has ever raced in NASCAR would love to put on their resume in order to say that they had a career that was fulfilling and complete. The race really offers up a certain mystique that carries its reputation to a whole new level beyond what drivers will experience by winning at another track.

As the calendar turns to 2018, the Daytona 500 comes around yet again, kicking off the latest NASCAR season and giving yet another racer the opportunity to say that they’ve conquered the sport’s biggest showdown. This year, as it turns out, Austin Dillon just so happened to be the one to go home with the 500 victory, claiming his spot in victory lane for the first time ever at the Daytona 500 and cementing his legacy among the 55 others who have taken home the win. When you think of the odds that are at stake with this particular race within a career,  each driver gets maybe only a couple of shots at lining up in the field and it becomes all that much more impressive to overcome the competition and end up a winner.

If you follow along with the video below, you’ll be able to follow in Austin Dillon’s footsteps as he took home first place and ended up in victory lane. Being able to cherish this moment is something that Dillon is going to want to do as he’ll probably end up looking back on this moment for the rest of his life. Even if he goes on to take home more Daytona 500 wins, there’s nothing like the first! Join in on the celebration to witness someone coming together with a lifelong goal that is oh so sweetened with the taste of victory and the sugar in that Coca-Cola product placement.
