Nissan GT-R Powered Ford Focus to tackle 2017 Pikes Peak Hill Climb

The beauty of the performance community is that no matter what task is at hand, if you’re trying to attack a hillclimb, drag strip, or anything in between, there are about a million different setups that could get the job done for each application. When it comes to get up and go, you could opt for a domestic or imported engine to power your machine and even after picking where it’s coming from, the options are still plentiful. Furthermore, things get even more interesting when you decide what kind of car the engine is going to go into. As you can see, the factors just keep going on and on and it really all depends on the goal at hand.

This time, we check out a car that’s being put together specifically to conquer the Pikes Peak Hillclimb. Pretty much anyone who is familiar with racing in even the most casual capacity knows about this monster of a hill that combines all sorts of different swooping and hairpins together that formulate one dangerous ride as hundreds or even thousands of feet of mountain reside next to the road for the car in question to tumble down with one false move.

To conquer such a treacherous road, this time, we check out a machine that has built off of the platform of none other than a Ford Focus. That’s right, we’re talking about that little bebop Ford that was designed to get you back and forth in traffic. However, the car has really come a long way. While this one isn’t exactly your traditional Focus, it most certainly was inspired by one and when all was said and done, some Nissan GT-R power from an R35 was plopped under the hood to make the package even sweeter.

Pretty much every component onboard this machine has been custom tailored to tackle one of the toughest hillclimbs around and the results are enough to really wow you!
