Rowing Gears Doesn’t Get Much Better Than This! (PLUS In-Car Footage)

If you ask people around the racing community, more specifically, the drag racing community, they might tell you that the art of the stick shift is dying. With so many efficient ways to go fast thanks to an automatic transmission that practically does all the work for you, the number of people that you will find willing to battle with a stick, to go as fast as they possibly can down the quarter mile, is dwindling. It’s really a shame because watching people bang gears is most certainly a fan favorite as the stick shift classes can sometimes be the most interesting of the bunch when they are offered.

This time, we head out to the Import vs Domestic World Cup Finals to follow along with Ray Bulach and his bright blue Chevrolet Camaro. The car just so happens to be in the mix, battling it out with a couple of other close competitors for the record of fastest manually shifted General Motors product in the world and this time, we get to take a look inside of the cockpit as Ray pulls up to the light at Maryland International Raceway and lays into it! From there, it’s game over as each and every gear is banged out, meanwhile, Ray steers the car without letting out of it, really giving us a look at that no-lift attitude.

If it’s a rowdy stick shift experience that you came to see you then you’re about to be presently surprised. Be sure to tune into the video down below as captured by BigKleib34. As they’re still experimenting around with a couple of things on the car, it leads us to believe that even at this high of a plateau, the machine has more left in it so stay tuned in 2018 to see how far Ray and the crew can push this Camaro to new heights.
