See through Rotary Engine in Slow Motion – (Wankel Engine)

Generally, when we’re looking at an engine’s combustion process, we get to see it from the outside and the outside only as the internal workings tick away inside. Therefore, you get to see all of nothing as you visualize the process because, unless you’re Superman, you’re not seeing through whatever metal the engine and heads in question are made out of to see it all going down. There is a chance, though, that with just the right experiment, you might just get to see how exactly combustion looks when the engine is in motion.

This time, we check out the process through what looks to be some sort of clear cover on a rotary engine that gives us a view inside at the combustion process and it’s insane to watch happen. While it might not exactly be the perfect setup to use in a vehicle that drives around on a regular basis, but for demonstration’s sake, this is a pretty wicked display to give you a better idea of exactly how something like a combustion engine functions and how it delivers power to all sorts of different machines that you might find yourself using on a regular basis.

It’s pretty neat to see as the miniature explosions seem to get more and more rapid and massive until the video calls it quits. Check out the video below that shows the neat experiment that’s a blast to watch and really gives you a unique perspective on what’s going on under the hood. Sometimes, while you can understand the concept, it’s a lot more helpful if you can actually see it in motion to learn more about what’s going on. It really makes you wonder if a clear setup like this could actually last with any durability. It would be neat to see someone develop clear engine components that will function long term.
