With the new trend, researchers are saying that if you coat roadways with a white top, there’s a good chance that it will begin to positively impact the globe and our bills alike. Because blacktop absorbs heat and keeps it there, it makes the environment a lot hotter. By simply coating black top with a white surface, the research tells us that if 35% of the streets in Los Angles were coated, that this one city alone could theoretically save $100 million. It doesn’t tell us in what period of time that would be, we presume it to be about a year. Even if it’s longer, $100 million duplicated across the country will quickly add up to billions of dollars!
