This Pressurized Running Water System on a Jeep Wrangler is Genius!

Creative, talented people come up with ideas that make life better and/or easier for themselves. Sometimes, they share those ideas with the rest of us so we can try out their new ideas, just like this Jeep Wrangler owner did. Upon discovering that the rear bumper of his Wrangler was hollow and could be sealed with a couple of drain plugs, the Jeep’s owner had the idea of using it as a water tank. Of course, without a way to get the water out, there’s no point in putting water in, so he rigged up a pretty badass system to pressurize the water inside the bumper, creating a high-pressure system that seems to be basically perfect for what it does.

With little more than a few strategically placed holes, a small water pump, and a switch, the Jeep’s owner built the simple-but-effective system that he says is perfect for hosing off after a day in the mud or sand. We can imagine it also comes in handy for plenty of other uses as well, from washing your hands after winching or spraying down your stuff that got dirty on the ride. With nearly seven gallons on hand, one could take a pretty good shower using the system if they so desired.

With a gallon of water weighing in right around 8 pounds, having an extra 56 pounds of weight hung over the rear end like won’t help gas mileage, but fuel economy is usually pretty far down the list of priorities for those buying Wranglers, so it’s probably not a huge deal. The convenience of having a water hose on hand at any time would almost certainly outweigh the penalty in fuel mileage. We send this guy some major props for putting this system together and making it not only functional but cleanly installed. The system actually looks as though it could have been installed from the factory!
