The suspension gurus at RideTech have taken on a completely new approach to building a ride to auction off at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale Arizona this weekend. While many companies to build or restore cars just for the Barrett-Jackson event, which is televised across the nation and has a massive and loyal fan base, Ridetech decided to bring the truck to the auction, THEN build it.
RideTech has set up shop on the property and are doing the customization at the auction so the audience can watch them in action and see what all goes into a build like this. Beginning with a mildly-restored C10 pickup, which will be disassembled and updated with a RideTech StreetGRIP suspension system, a Currie 9″ Ford rear end, and some killer Baer brakes. The build will also feature an American Autowire wiring harness installation which will be connected to a complete instrument panel from Classic Instruments, while a Kicker Bluetooth media center will be installed to handle the music selection.
From there, a No Limit Engineering fuel tank will send go juice to FiTech’s EFI system, where MSD ignition parts will ignite the fuel. Back inside the cabin, Vintage Air will keep things cool, while Lokar pedals and cables connect the important parts. Detroit Speed wipers and billet hinges from RingBrothers round out the accessories that will really set this truck apart, along with a sound-killing later of HushMat insulation. The final key pieces of the puzzle are the custom EAWraps two-tone vinyl wrap and a custom set of Forgeline Wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich rubber.
At the end of the weekend, this truck will roll across the auction block with No Reserve, meaning it could go for next to nothing, or if there’s a great deal of interest, it could spark a frenzy and sell for well more than was spent getting it ready to roll. The truck has to cross the auction block as-promised and under its own power, so the pressure will be on the RideTech guys to get everything locked down and ready to go in just 48 hours. If you’re interested in bidding, Barrett-Jackson does have online and by-phone bidding, so maybe even a lucky reader could be the next owner of this unprecedented build.
