Why Did This Kid Get Arrested For Paying For a Ticket in Quarters?

Sometimes, when you get a ticket, it might not make much sense to you. It might be something that makes your blood boil and really gets under your skin. However, at the end of the day, if the judge says that you need to pay it, well, you need to pay it. There’s really not much getting out of tickets once all is said and done. Even though we are forced to pay fines, that doesn’t mean that we are forced to pay them quietly as provided by our rights as Americans. Now, you could go out there and petition, making your case heard or you could do more of a passive protest to let the people who are receiving your money know how you feel about their actions.

This time, we check out a little bit of the latter as someone who isn’t so happy with the ticket heads into the courthouse to pay but he decides to do it completely in quarters. While it isn’t exactly the clerk’s fault that he will have to pay the ticket, this was this young man’s way of “sticking it to the man.” Instead of simply taking the money and ignoring the gesture or rejecting money smoothly, this one got a lot bigger than it probably had to.

Follow along in the video below as the police end up on the scene as this young man ends up getting arrested for trying to pay his fine in change. I’m sure that he’s not the first one to pay in change as we have seen the likes of people who even tried to pay in pennies, however, I would venture to think that he was the first one to get arrested on the scene for refusing to take his payment back from the teller window. After watching this clip, be sure to tell us which side of this issue you think is correct.
