1970 Ford Truck Commercial – Featuring it’s Twin “I” Beam Suspension

Back in the 70s, we were trying out all kinds of new things and the advertising that came from these things was pretty interesting to say the least.

To show off their “Twin I Beam” suspension, Ford would roll one of their trucks across a rumble strip, making the bottom wheels blow up some explosives with an attached rod. Meanwhile, the rod attached to the cab would ride steady.

We aren’t really sure how accurate this test is or if it’s worth anything, but checking out what was innovative 40+ years ago is pretty interesting to look at.
