2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know

Our friend Roman from The Fast Lane Truck YouTube channel caught up with the chief engineer of the new Tundra TRD Sport at the Chicago Auto Show, where he found out just what all Toyota has done to upgrade it’s full size pickup offering.

The 2018 TRD Sport is focused less on off-road capabilities and more toward on-road performance and safety, aligning itself with the Silverado and F150’s of the world. With upgraded Bilstein shocks and springs and larger diameter sway bars, the truck is built to reduce body roll and maintain contact with the road surface. Inside, there’s a host of upgrades to the driver interface, along with a list of safety features to help protect the driver and those on the road around them.

The iForce V8 and the drivetrain is carried over from the previous generation, but being one of the more advanced powerplants on the road already, it didn’t exactly need to be updated. Look for the new Tundra TRD Sport on dealership showrooms later this fall.
