Have you ever wondered how fighter jets are able to so easily launch off of an aircraft carrier like this one? Well, today, we get down to some of the testing that might give you a better idea.
Today, we join in on the some dead-load testing of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS), used by the US Navy to get jets up in the sky.
By using a cart that’s launched straight into the water like a rag doll, the crew is able to see exactly how the system would work and a real world scenario.
It really looks like this testing is more fun than it is work, I mean, who wouldn’t want to launch a giant cart into the water with an enormous catapult?
