Amazing Facts You Never Knew About TV’s Most Iconic Cars

Knowledge is power, even if it is relatively useless trivia, so check out this video about 5 of the most iconic rides to grace the screen and learn all about what it took to make them so famous.

There are few cars more instantly-recognizable than the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard, but few people know what it took to keep Bo and Luke Duke’s trusty Charger up and running from Roscoe. There were over 300 different cars used during the show’s production run thanks to the jumps, flips and crashes that occurred during filming. In 2001, a pair of collectors stumbled up on the first General Lee from Episode 1 and restored it, netting them $110,000 at auction.

There are also some crazy facts about the 1957 Plymouth Fury used in Stephen King’s Christine. There were 24 cars purchased for the film’s production, and only two survived filming. The sounds made by Christine were not accurate to the Fury, but were instead dubbed from a 1970 Super Cobra Jet! King has said he chose the Fury because of it’s cool but menacing look, and we’d say he made a perfect choice.

Also in the video, learn about the Delorean from Back to the Future, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, and the Ferraris from Miami Vice and what made their journey to TV legend status happen!
