You would think that driving a tram car would be something that would be a pretty straightforward job. You get behind the wheel and can kind of relax as the car is on track and will guide itself, after all, right? Well, that’s about halfway correct as the vehicle is operated on tracks, however, it would seem like a tram car operator has to try a little bit harder than one might think. It’s not as simple pushing down on the accelerator and going from stop to stop as it seems like folks, regardless of the tracks that are through the middle of town, somehow get tangled up with tram cars pretty often.

I’m not sure what it is about the combination of the tracks and the massive car that people find hard to see, however, it really seems like folks still manage to get tangled up with the machine on a somewhat regular basis. I guess that most just aren’t used to looking for something resembling a train during their regular commute, perhaps. No matter the reason, though, it doesn’t make the collisions any less painful. Instead, it seems like, when we get to ride along with such a vehicle, that collisions happen over and over again as the victim is always different but the results always seem to be about the same time after time.

If you follow along with the video below, you’ll be able to stop in on a situation that you have to see to believe. It’s honestly pretty nutty how many people can get tied up in something like this when it seems like there’s such an obvious solution right at their fingertips. I guess that when this lapse in focus happens, though, maybe these people need to just shake it off and try again another day.
