For the vast majority of people who are looking to spend money on just about anything, they will categorize things in one of two categories. Either the object that you’re looking at falls in the category of being worthy of spending good money on or falls into the category of trying to save money on it and instead of buying the best brand possible, simply going forth with a stricter budget in mind. These are definitely decisions that we make every day and you’ll find yourself thinking about them everywhere from how you modify a car all the way to your spending in the dairy aisle on your grocery store trip.

One of the areas that you might find a little bit harder to pick and choose if you should go with the budget or with a high dollar part is that a helmet. At the end of the day, it’s not like it’s a pack of cheese that you can simply throw out if you don’t like the taste of the store brand and only lose a couple of dollars but instead, could really be a life or death decision. However, the gap in price between a more reputable helmet and an entry-level helmet is so sizable that it’s at least worth looking into, even if it is something that could be related to your safety. If the entry-level piece is good enough, after all, you could save a couple of hundred dollars.

If you follow along in the video below, you’ll be able to see what the guys over at Donut Media come up with when they dig into a couple of helmets that definitely have a nice little price gap in between them and when digging into these things, you can begin to see why exactly that is. In addition to seeing what these particular helmets are made of, you also get to see a little something about what you can look out for when buying a helmet of your own that will make sure that you get a better quality piece to better protect your melon.
