Man Flies Plane into his Own House After Heated Argument With His WIfe
Recently, in a scene out of Salt Lake City’s suburbs, we were exposed to a situation that seems more like a mission out of a Grand Theft Auto video game than it does seem like a situation that actually happened in real life. However, this is certainly real life as an individual by the name of Duane Youd decided to take to the skies, attempting to take the lives of his wife and child while they were inside of his Utah home. His methods were a bit obscure but luckily, no innocent bystanders went down in the display but Youd did die upon impact.
Reports say that “Youd was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after witnesses called police to report that Youd was assaulting his wife, Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said. The couple had been drinking and went to American Fork Canyon to talk about problems they were having.” This was followed by an incident around 2:30 on Monday morning when he would take the airplane up into the sky and plow it straight into the front of his home in the city of Payson, an area about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Via Click 2 Houston, it was reported, “Investigators believe the plane belonged to Youd’s employer and that he intentionally flew into his own house, Sandoval said. He was an experienced pilot, she said. It wasn’t immediately clear who employed Youd.”
Furthermore, after the collision occurred, while the man’s wife and children were in the house, it is said that even though the impact occurred and the house went up in flames, nobody within was seriously injured as they managed to make their way out of the structure before things escalated further. After seeing this one, you can’t help but feel for the family as this has to be a taxing time.
