MEAN BEAN PINTO ROCK BOUNCING MACHINE

When at the drawing board, we bet that the folks at Ford never expected their Ford Pinto to be used quite like this. Shawn Cross had some quite unique plans when he put together the Pinto based rock bouncer aka “Mean Bean.”

The rig is a custom built 1980 Ford Pinto with EFI 460 Big Block Ford mated with a granny 4 speed transmission. Now, we know that you’re saying to yourself that this rig is about 0% Pinto aside from a few body panels, right? In reality, when building Mean Bean, 75% of the car’s chassis was retained in the final product.

It took two years to build, but we’d say it was worth it! Check out the video below as this Pinto bouncer takes one heck of a beating.
