Oil Changes Are Now Easy! One Flip of a Switch With This New Invention!
If you have even an ounce of mechanical inclination in your body, you could probably figure out how to do an oil change as it’s one of the very first things that you’ll learn when you touch wrench to vehicle.
It’s actually something that we would recommend just about everyone know how to do before the time that they leave high school, but with this story, that’s neither here nor there. However, even though the job is one that’s as simple as it possibly gets, even the most experienced mechanic can figure out a way to get disgusting oil all over the place as you remove the drain bolt and it’s kind of difficult to avoid sometimes.
The folks behind this one set out to solve that dilemma and the result is a simple valve that is tightened down in place of your drain valve. The concept is incredibly simple and, if consistently effective, could save time and sloppiness should all factors line up like they’re supposed to.
Instead of removing the drain plug, like a traditional setup, this valve opens and closes on command to give you the cleanest experience possible. Essentially, there’s no bolt removal then scurrying to get your hand out of the way as oil flies everywhere. However, if you replace your drain plug with something like this, it’s leaving a lot of trust in the hands of one cheap part. If the valve should fail or even get banged by road debris to open, it would quickly dispose of all oil in the engine and at that point, you can just smile and wave goodbye as you develop quite the extensive repair situation.
