Earnhardt is one of the biggest names in racing. From Dale Sr.’s success to Dale Jr.’s rise to fame after his father’s passing, everybody knows the name. The #3 car will always be remembered. Living up do his dad’s name wasn’t an easy task for Dale Jr., but he’s become one of the favorite drivers in all of NASCAR and proved that he is a hell of a driver.

Just a week ago, we heard that Dale Jr. wouldn’t race again in 2016 to give him time to recover from a concussion. In the same press conference, he let loose his plan for retirement. Thankfully, he is not planning to retire anytime soon.

“I’m only 41,” He said talking to the AP. “I’ve got some good years left. I think I’m as good as I’ve been inside the car. I feel like I’m still an asset to the team and to the company.”

Retirement “is not something I think about”, he added talking to ESPN.

After his injury, everybody was scared that he would call it quits now, but Earnhardt is sure that he has plenty of good years of racing ahead of him. We look forward to seeing Dale Jr. compete in, and hopefully win, another Daytona 500!
