Larson Celebrates Win the Right Way

Kyle Larson has been one of the up and coming drivers in NASCAR that people can’t help but look out for. He’s absolutely furious behind the wheel and consistent. In this weekend race at Michigan International Speedway, he thought he had the win, but after losing the race out of pit road, it looked to be lost. Dropped back to fourth place, he lost hope that his first Sprint Cup Series win would happen.
It turns out he was wrong as he wheeled his way to the front and stayed there. Crossing the finish line to his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win. Excited doesn’t even describe his reaction. He went to victory lane for his signature burnouts…with his steering wheel hanging out of the window. Back in 2014 when he won his first race in the Nationwide Series, he did the same thing. NASCAR officials obviously asked him to avoid removing the steering wheel for safety reasons and this is all he had to say.
“But you know, I just won my first Nationwide race — I’ll do whatever I want,” the 21-year-old said with a big grin. “And if I win the Cup race, I’ll probably do the same thing.”
Two years later, Larson held true to that promise. He ripped it on pit lane leaving black marks right across the Michigan International Speedway logo. As he continues to race the #42 Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi Racing, we wish him the best of luck. For now, check out this video of Kyle getting wild on track!
