Elite Motorsports/Modern Racing Pro Mod Teams To Have Help From Tuning Legend Shane Tecklenberg for 2019

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Shane Tecklenberg for a couple of years now, but I’d known who he was long before our chance meeting at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Charlotte. With a reputation built by tuning cars to world records and race wins for decades, Shane has quietly become on of the most sought-after tuners in the world. He’s also made quite a name for himself with his custom MoTeC engine management software.

Yesterday, it was announced that he would be joining forces with one of the premier teams in professional drag racing, forming and alliance that will have a direct impact here at Speed Society. Tecklenberg signed on to provide his custom software to Elite Motorsports as they launch an all-out blitz on the Pro Mod world next year after teaming up with Justin Elkes and Modern Racing.

This won’t the Shane’s first venture with Elite and team owner Richard Freeman, who also brought Tecklenberg on to help his Pro Stock teams transition to EFI a few seasons ago. In an interview with our partners over at Drag Illustrated, Freeman said “We continually seek out the chance to work with the best and brightest the sport has to offer as we make a hard push into NHRA Pro Mod. We have worked with Shane in the past and we like what he can add to this group.”

Tecklenberg echoed Freeman’s thoughts. “I look forward to combining the resources of my firm, ST Consulting, with those of Elite Motorsports and Modern Racing. I think each business compliments the other and each brings a high level of expertise in their respective fields,” Tecklenburg stated. “I look forward to working with Justin Elkes to help ensure the team is on the leading edge of technology and performance each time we pull to the starting line.”

While the NHRA may be between seasons, look for Elite drivers Erica Enders, Steve Matusek and Speed Society’s own Alex Laughlin to be testing their respective rides as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated on progress as this super-team comes together and gets to work!
