If you have ever followed things that Elon Musk has said and thought that he might be a little bit off his rocker, you’re probably right. However, as compared to other people that you might deem as crazy, somehow, Elon is smart enough to back it up, bring all these concepts that might’ve once been seen as completely absurd to reality. In such a short period of time, he has really taken over the news, making a broad range of industries even more efficient and even punching his way into industries that never existed. This time, he can’t really be serious though, can he?
In a series of recent tweets, Musk has unveiled that he plans to add a sort of rocket booster technology to roadworthy cars in order to make it so that they would be able to fly. Imagine a flying Tesla skating over a lake. Everything aside from the fact that it hasn’t been posted on April 1 would us to believe that this would be some sort of elaborate April Fools Joke, however, we’ve learned that when Elon says he’s going to do something, it’s probably not a joking matter. It’s really a lot to wrap your head around, but then again, just about everything else that he has brought into the real world also would’ve been the same way a couple of years ago.
The Tweet Goes, “Not saying the next gen Roadster special upgrade package *will* definitely enable it to fly short hops, but maybe Certainly possible. Just a question of safety. Rocket tech applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities.”
He hasn’t put a time frame on any of this or even really explained how it would all happen but the fact that it’s even a consideration is pretty crazy. Musk says that safety is an issue but if they could shore that up then “Rocket tech applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities.”
Will Mr. Musk be able to achieve the impossible yet again and bring flying cars to reality in any sort of realistic time frame?Who knows, with all that Musk has been able to accomplish, we might look like a society straight out of the Jetsons before long.
