A new form of racing competition is evolving. Upon us are the days where electricity is going to begin to compete with combustion. It might just shape up to be one of the great automotive rivalries in history. The era could be looked back on as a pivot point for how we compete behind the wheel.

Some drivers have found themselves rather surprised by the fact that electric technology is able to keep up with their tried-and-true combustion combinations. Different models out of the electric camp have truly excelled in the world of drag racing. As technology gets better, we’re sure that this phenomenon will only become more relevant.

In fact, we have to say that some of the offerings out of the electric vehicle camp are the most exciting. Sure, we’re incredibly curious about what something like the next generation of Chevrolet Corvette is going to do. However, we really can’t help but be invested in the unknown here. Electric vehicle racing is still a rather untapped market. It’s really wide open for competitors to jump in and stake their claim.

Enter the Porsche Taycan Turbo S

One of the most potent performance EVs this upcoming year is likely to be from Porsche. In the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, initial indications seem to insist it’s going to be pretty darn quick.

Exactly how quickly enthusiasts will be able to get this Porsche to go is tough to determine. The aftermarket and modification selection for electric vehicles isn’t exactly a developed market. However, straight off the bat, things are looking pretty good from the sedan that offers up 750 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque.

In this particular demonstration, the folks over at DragTimes get up close and personal with the EV. They even get the opportunity to take it down the drag strip. We don’t want to spoil the fun in watching the video. This thing is rolling, though! See it for yourself below.
