How about that time Farmtruck smoked Doc Holiday’s Corvette? Hop into the driver’s seat

Based on your response to these videos, it’s clear that the fans love these “In The Driver’s Seat” style clips from Discovery Channel. We understand that they have to edit the races the way they do for the general public since the majority of the television-watching populace aren’t gearheads and watch for the drama more than the actual racing, but for those of us who do watch for the racing, this style of editing is a lot better.

Raw, real, and quick, like an actual drag race.

In this clip, the cameras are rolling in The Farmtruck and well as the C6 Corvette of Doc Holiday when they line up on the streets of Memphis. The first view is from the ‘Vette and opens with JJ Da Boss pulling both drivers up to the starting line. As soon as they’re both lined up, JJ drops back and hits the light, sending the rides launching hard into the night. Doc gets a hole shot on the hefty Farmtruck and looks to be laying down a pretty stellar run, but just at the finish line, we see the 405’s favorite full size Chevy stick a nose out front to take the win.

From his perspective, we can see that Farmtruck was never very far behind the Corvette of Holiday, holding steady just behind the slick Vette after falling behind at the start. However, as the big truck builds a head of steam and and nitrous-huffing big block under the hood starts to put in work, Farmtruck drives around the C6 and takes the win on the top end.

This was a great race, decided by only a couple of feet right at the finish line, showing just how closely matched these two were. It’s always great to see Farmtruck throwing down ororace nights, because the ol’ truck is deceptively fast and, more important, consistent. It’s not the fastest ride on the list, but it’s going to make the trip form A to B just about every time that flash light shines, and that’s something a lot of the other cars on the list can’t say.
