Lots of times, when it comes to car movies, they don’t exactly grasp reality very well. Let’s just say that there’s a very fine line between using special effects to enhance a movie and completely overdoing it. Don’t get us wrong. When it comes to series like The Fast and the Furious, we absolutely love to watch. However, when watching one of those movies, we have to come in with certain expectations. We wouldn’t turn on a Fast and Furious flick searching for a deep and carefully woven storyline.
On the other hand, there are very few car movies that really tell a story that can carry the film without massive theatrics. However, Ford vs Ferrari would attempt to do just that. Based on the reviews that we’ve heard, we would say that the community thinks this mission was accomplished.
The film tells us the story of Ferrari‘s domination at LeMans in the early 60s. Ford would try to buy into the company to take part in this success. After they failed to come to terms, Ford would come up with a plan to destroy Ferrari in the race. We won’t spoil the rest of the story for you. Instead, we would encourage you to check this one out for yourself.
This time, we hear from the star of the show as he checks in with Jay Leno to talk a bit about it. After speaking of his admiration for the film, Leno turns it over to Matt Damon to talk about the script and how they were able to execute.
As automotive enthusiasts, we know how hard it could be to get a movie like this just right. If we ask Leno, he would say that they hit the nail on the head. Damon is going to tell us just how that was possible.
