Mazda RX7 Pandem Boss Hot Wheels Custom

When it comes to all sorts of automotive builds and restorations, attention to detail can be paramount. Maybe this means making sure that the interior is stitched properly or that the gauge cluster has just the right layout. When building a hot rod, the details are a big part of the picture.

This time, we check in with a build that’s not exactly full size. However, the attention to detail is absolutely second to none. Some of the ins and outs of this custom creation will really leave jaws on the floor.

The creation started off as a typical Hot Wheels car. The machine was built to mimic a Mazda RX-7 FD in diecast form. It looked just like any other Mazda RX-7 Hot Wheels car. However, with the creator behind the JD Project YouTube channel, it wouldn’t be traditional for very long.

Instead, he would immediately jump to action, stripping the car down and taking it apart. Before we knew it, the creator was cutting the mini model up and even creating custom components. He even went so far as to create a Pandem Boss body kit to accompany the custom Hot Wheels. It’s pretty neat to see how he crafted the custom shapes, hanging the bumpers on the car to make it look like the real thing. This custom creation is truly a miniaturized version of JDM culture if we have ever seen one.

By following along with the video below, we get to ride along with the customization. Absolutely no stone is left unturned in this one. We watch as everything from the paint all the way to a functioning hood and trunk are created in the name of building something special.

When all is said and done, the attention to detail was so intense that it almost looks like it came straight from Hot Wheels. However, what we’re looking at is truly a one-of-a-kind diecast creation.
