Even though no turning is involved, there are about a million inputs going into a race that can make drag racing turn volatile quickly. When you’re racing this caliber of car, that fact is amplified tenfold.
In this one, things got sketchy as Bobby Stephenson got a little bit loose up near the top of the track and the next steps leading up to the crash unfolded so quickly that you might just miss them if you blink.
It’s tough to watch as Bobby heads toward the wall, ripping off the front end of the Ford Mustang in the process. Luckily, Bobby was able to walk away uninjured and will race another day!
