NASCAR Unveils Plan to Have Fans Back in Attendance This Month

For those who have been paying attention, they probably have noticed that NASCAR racing is back underway. Although the green flag has flown and there have been a couple of checkered flags put in the books as well, no fans have been there to see it. Instead, those who love the sport have had to make do with watching it on TV.

However, it seems like NASCAR will soon start making their way back to having fans in attendance. NASCAR announced Tuesday that the action will be back underway with fans in attendance at Talladega Superspeedway. It seems rather appropriate as Talladega is the biggest oval track that the sport visits. That means lots of room to spread out for the spectators.

While the track provides enough seating for up to 80,000 people in the main grandstand and up to 175,000 people total, NASCAR’s goal is to bring 5,000 into the venue to get things moving back in the right direction. Grandstand tickets will be $40 each while tower tickets will carry a $50 price.

As with any other public situation, fans will be required to adhere to a six-foot social distancing practice. All spectators over three years of age will be required to wear a face-covering as well. Last but not least, each fan will be screened before entering the premises. This will include a health questionnaire along with non-contact temperature screening. Fans will have to sign a waiver as well.

At just a fraction of capacity, it might be hard to gain the energy that some of these events typically deliver. However, in the current state of affairs, we would tend to think that this is a rather big step in the right direction. It’s not exactly back to the way that things were. However, it’s a hopeful sign that maybe we can get there before long.
