Patent Suggest a Vacuum Cleaner Company Will be Tesla Model X Competitor

Over the past couple of years, the automotive market has become a very strange place. We get that there’s a natural evolution to these sorts of things. However, there have been some major changes that we definitely couldn’t have seen coming. For example, Ford no longer produces any cars except for the Mustang. They decided to stick to bigger vehicles instead. Chevrolet produces an all-electric COPO Camaro. This takes the classic and throws a twist at it. Instead of the big grumbling is V8 as the only option, the cars are now completely silent with the electric option. With the latest trend on this road, we have yet another strange development.

Just when we thought it couldn’t possibly get any weirder, the same people who make your vacuum are setting out to make your next car. That’s right, headline readers rejoice! Dyson is going to be setting out to make their own electric vehicle due in 2021. Our buddies over at Motor Authority tell us that they’ve kept their ear to the ground and have heard rumblings of this sort of news for about two years now. It looks like push is finally coming to shove. We finally have confirmation from Dyson and a time frame.

Via Motor Authority, “The company on Wednesday made public several patent drawings filed in 2017 that show what appears to be a long, sleek crossover SUV with three rows of seats. In other words, a Tesla Model X rival.”

Their report continues that, in an email to employees, James Dyson made some revelations. Dyson says that the patent doesn’t reveal much about styling or how the vehicle will perform. Instead, he says it will “provide a glimpse of some of the inventive steps.”

The patents include the likes of a flat battery in the floor and thin wheels that are supposed to provide less resistance.

One thing to remember here is that there are a lot of companies have taken a shot at electric vehicles. Very few actually cling to mainstream success. However, the thought of there being a Dyson-branded car rolling around the streets is something that really bends the mind.
