Porsche Driver Outwits an Armed Hijacker and Gets Away

The driver of this Porsche used some quick thinking and his cars nimble handling to escape would-be carjackers in the South African city of Johannesburg.

The Porsche can be seen pulling up to the gated drive, presumably of the owner’s home, when a silver BMW slows to a stop along the street behind it. The rear door of the Bimmer opens and an occupant steps out and approaches the Porsche, but instead of exiting the car, the driver slams the Porsche into reverse and backs out of the driveway quickly, nearly running over the gunman and swiping the back bumper of the waiting BMW.

The thwarted carjacker appears confused but appears to fire a couple of rounds toward the fleeing Porsche, which backs out of the frame briefly before fleeing down the street. The defeated carjacker climbs back into the BMW, which turns in the street and flees in the opposite direction.
