Renovo Coupe: America’s First Electric Supercar

What looks like a Shelby Daytona Coupé, goes like a Porsche 911 Turbo S and uses no fuel? The Renovo Coupe. It’s a car bred in Silicon Valley and it’s the first all-electric supercar from the US. XCAR caught up with its creators at Pebble Beach 2014 for a chat about the most exciting new electric vehicle on the block.  People may ask what qualifies this car as a “Supercar”, well, the collaboration with Shelby, 500hp, 1,000 pounds of torque and a 0 – 60 mph time of less than 3.4 seconds we think it qualifies.  The limiting factor is range, but with the quick recharge system, this vehicle can be fully recharged in 30 minutes.

Plus there is the supercar like price tag of $529,000 for one of these vehicles.  The battery power allows the car to get full power to the wheels with in 37 milliseconds, about 10 times faster than a human can blink.  Watch the CEO of Renovo walk us through what went into this awesome car below.
