The Hellcat Makes Good Power but how Does it Compare to a Viper?

Since the release of Dodge’s Hellcat trim level, it really seems like Mopar has managed to take a lot more of the spotlight than it has in the years leading up to the kitty’s release. These things really make people talk about the cars in a way that we haven’t really seen too much from Dodge in the performance community recently.

Now, the Demon has come out and has shown its dominance in the marketing world and eventually, it looks like that dominance will carry over to performance on the track as well but, with that car only being a limited production run, the Hellcat will undoubtedly remain as Dodge’s performance flagship unless some unforeseen change of plans comes to life.

This time, we check out some half-mile passes from a Wannagofast event that puts a Dodge Challenger Hellcat and SRT Viper up against one another. Now, the hellcat does make a bunch of power but will that power be enough to overcome the lightweight advantage that the Viper has with both cars being stock? The answer here is a combination of both yes and no.

You see, in most cases it does look like the Viper is able to get out of the hole a lot harder than the hefty Hellcat but, at the end of the day, all of that power is able to help count the demonic kitty with reeling in just a little bit more of a top speed in the half mile even though the Viper is able to outrun it. What does all this amount to? Well, it looks like the simple answer is a couple of good races that you have got the see! Both of these cars would make a great addition to just about anyone’s garage so tell us which of the group you would choose to drive home in at the end of the day.
