Throwback! Dale Jr Wins First Race at Daytona After His Dad Passed Away

If the future pans out in the way that Dale Earnhardt Jr. plans it to, there might never be another Earnhardt in NASCAR racing again. He has publicly gone on record saying that he’s not necessarily going to push his kids into the sport and would honestly prefer that they stay away from actual racing and perhaps stick to something a little bit safer, whether it be a part of NASCAR or not. However, on the flipside, it also doesn’t sound like he’s going to prevent his kids from making their way to the sport should they decide that under their own accord.

However, even if the Earnhardt legacy remains as just a legacy and nothing more, the father and son combo that has really taken the sport to a new level has done so much for NASCAR that anything else really would just be a cherry on top. From all of the moments that they have left behind that really have given us something to sink our teeth into, everybody who’s a fan of this form of racing has to really be appreciative for all that the family has done. This time, we take a moment to flash back to one of those iconic instances within the sport that really throws us that unforgettable feeling.

If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be able to relive the moment that had Dale Jr. winning the first race at Daytona since his dad had passed away, taking a victory at the same track that had claimed the life of his father. Something like this brings a tear to the eye and really helps you appreciate all that the family has done for the sport of NASCAR. This is really just a drop in the bucket when you consider how many more iconic moments have been provided by the family that has essentially been the face of NASCAR for their entire run in the sport.
