US-13 Brawl For it All NO PREP – Street Outlaws vs 302Nation

Delmar, Delware’s US 13 Dragway held it’s first ever Brawl for it All No Prep Shootout featuring some of the biggest names in the no prep world taking on 8 local teams to see who could master the tricky surface and take home the win. With guys like Chuck Parker and The 55 and Chris Taggart in the Swamp Thing, the local guys had better step up their game because when it comes to no-prep, these guys are some of the toughest in the game and they don’t come to make friends.

You can see as the rounds progress that the teams that have been running no prep for quite some time now have a bit of an advantage over the guys who are new to the niche, but that doesn’t keep the local teams from putting up a hell of a fight, even going so far as to have a car wade through the competition and make it to the finals. Unfortunately for them, Mr. Parker was waiting in the finals in arguably the winningest no prep car over the past few years, his gorgeous nitrous-injected 1955 Chevy.

The 55 lined up with The Wild Child Showmod, a great looking boosted Camaro that had mowed down the competition to earn his spot alongside Chuck in the finals. The Showmod – a name I assume the car earned based on its combination of speed and looks – laid down a long, beautiful half-track burnout in hopes of adding a little traction to the equation, knowing The 55’s brutal reputation. Meanwhile, Parker laid down his typical shorter burnout, following the same routine he and crew chief Kirk Peters have perfected over the years.

Both cars backed into their fresh rubber and staged, the tree falling quickly from amber to green, a twist on the pro tree start that I’ve never seen before, before the cars launch hard toward the stripe. It looks like the Wild Child gets a pretty decent holeshot off the line, but runs into some traction issues down track that allowed Parker to drive around and take the win. All in all, there was some great racing at this event and I have to assume we’ll be seeing more no prep action at US 13 in the near future.
