What’s THE SECRET Behind a $50,000 Paint Job!?

When it comes to talking about the perfect paint job, things aren’t always as simple as they seem. To somebody who has never done it before, it might seem like just slapping on a coat of paint and rolling. However, for anyone who has any familiarity with this sort of work, they know that’s not exactly how it comes together. Instead, there is a lot of preparation that goes into the perfect paint job.

For those who have been following along with our friend, Kristian’sBuild For Cancer, they know that it made an appearance at SEMA this year with a brilliant paint job. This time, we take everyone inside how exactly that came together. We wanted the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro to be perfect for Kristian. In order to do that, we have had a lot of great companies hop on board. After all, an effort like this wouldn’t be possible without having lots of good hands onboard.

With this one, we check in with Zero to 60 Designs as they tell us some of their secrets. With a good paint job, knowledge alone won’t yield the greatest finished product possible. Instead, a skillful hand also needs to be added to the equation. That’s where these guys come in. Let’s just say that they have plenty of ability on all levels of a perfect paint job.

By following along with the Speed Society video below, we get the inside scoop on how exactly a job like this comes to life. It isn’t just about paint or even simply preparing the surface. Instead, these guys really go above and beyond, showing us why some paint and body jobs can rack up quite the price tag.

They do everything from laying glass exactly flat, all the way to making sure that every single panel has an equally distributed gap from top to bottom. At the end of the day, it’s this attention to detail that can make a build absolutely perfect. After watching this, it’s completely understandable why a good paint job is so expensive. It takes some serious time and ability to pull together.
