Will 4-Stroke Oil Damage A 2-Stroke Engine? Let’s Find Out!

Just because some engines share similar characteristics doesn’t mean that all of them were created the same, obviously. Sometimes, when it comes to a particular application, you need to take care of that engine in a certain way to ensure that you’re going to maintain the quality of the unit over its life. When it comes to your small internal combustion engines, a two-stroke and a four-stroke are oiled in different ways. With one slip up, you might think that it’s going to be a complete disaster and this time, thanks guys over at Project Farm, you get to see just if that’s going to be the case.
This time, we get to see exactly what would happen if you took four-stroke oil and mixed it with the fuel in a two-stroke engine. Normally, fuel and oil are mixed together in a two-stroke engine, however,It takes a special kind of two-stroke oil in order to make sure that everything is functioning properly.
The properties of this and a four-stroke oil are definitely different so the idea here is to see how hot the engine will run if you swap them out or if something worse will unfold. Things could potentially even go completely to the other end of the spectrum and undergo some chaos with the oil swap. This notion is definitely one that keeps us waiting in suspense.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be able to see exactly what happens as yet another project by Project Farm might just take the life of another small combustion engine. After seeing some of these experiments and how they pan out, you could definitely see some of the dos and do nots along with what could possibly happen if something like this were to become a slip up in your own garage.
