Yep It’s Real! Cut Your Grass on a Mower in the Air Conditioning

Being from Alabama, where the summer temps are almost as high as the humidity, yard work is always way down the list of things I want to do. Even in the early spring and late fall when the temps are a little milder, it’s just a pain in the butt to spend hours mowing the grass to impress neighbors I don’t really even like. However, it must be done, so like everybody else, I begrudgingly jump on the mower and spend a couple of hours sweating on the mower to trim up my lawn before jumping in the shower to wash off the funk.

That may be coming to and end, not because I’m going to stop mowing – as nice as that would be – but because it appears there is a solution on the way to the market that will drastically improve the heat situation: an air conditioner for the mower! While it’s likely not exactly cheap, it does look like the inventor, who unfortunately isn’t named in the short clip we have of the setup in action, used the least expensive materials possible to keep cost down. The configuration appears to consist mostly of transparent plastic windows, held together by a metal frame at the top. Behind the driver, though, is the focal point of the project. Riding right behind the driver’s head is a small air conditioning unit pumping cooled air into the compartment, keeping the driver nice and cool while he knocks out the task at hand.

With such a small compartment, it shouldn’t take long for the AC to cool things down nicely, making the task of mowing much more comfortable. Plus, let’s be honest here, the mower looks much more high-end with the enclosure, and don’t we all want to cause a little mower envy when the neighbors see us mowing in chilled comfort while they’re toiling away in the heat? I know I certainly want to!
