When you have the type of fame that the Zac Brown Band has accrued, there are all sorts of doors open to you. One of the doors that has opened for the band’s lead man is a collaboration opportunity with Indian Motorcycles. Who wouldn’t think that it would be awesome to have their name and their own design brandished on an iconic bike brand?
Both Brown, along with his Zac Brown Band Collective design firm, have joined forces with Indian to create a limited edition bike. Maxim tells us that the machine features a Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin. The engine has been fitted with new cylinders, big bore pistons, and a larger throttle body. This should provide a 15-percent increase in torque and a 20-percent increase in horsepower.
The model was built off of Indian’s already existing Chief Dark horse Model. In addition to the aforementioned performance modifications, the Chieftain Dark Horse has a bit of pop as well. For starters, we see that the bike is sitting on custom wheels. It sports a 21-inch wheel in the front and a 16-inch wheel out back.
Instead of a blacked out look provided by the original bike, this one adds a charcoal flake paint. It’s enhanced with 24k gold leaf accents and a satin finish. The gold theme continues in the engine compartment with more accent plating. All of these design characteristics make the machine practically pop right off the canvas it was built on.
For he or she who is willing to shell out the money to grab this beautiful bike, it’ll all go to a good cause. All proceeds from the bike’s auction are going to help out Camp Southern Ground. The charity is a “non-profit founded by the Zac Brown Band frontman that serves children with autism, dyslexia and other developmental challenges.”
