Years ago, the concept of what we know as a drone today was nothing more than a science fiction fantasy idea. If you were to hop in a time machine and go tell your past self or somebody of 10 or 20 years ago what was happening in the world today, it would probably be a jaw-dropping revelation. This time, we delve a little bit deeper into the concept of drones and just how seamless they have become to the point where they’re even being used in racing! In this video, the guys from /DRIVE attempt to tackle the concept of piloting drones that can go from 0 to 80 mph in just one second and participate in virtual races that might even be a tough concept for people who are used to today’s technology to grasp. Virtual reality like this can create some phenomenon that are tough for the body to handle if not first acclimated.

Follow along in the video below that lays out everything that this drone racing has to offer as the guys even discuss the possibility of it taking over for regular racing. While the concept of drone racing is pretty exciting, it’s kind of tough to see a future where it completely takes the reigns but with the way things are going, I can definitely see that these guys might have a point. After listening to exactly what you can expect with drone racing, tell us where you see this form of competition taking place in the future. Do you think this will be something that could evolve to a sports as big as NASCAR?
