If you have ever been involved in any sort of race, the thought of a crash is usually pushed as far from your head as you can possibly get it. As this race says, if the crash is something that dominates your thoughts, you’re probably better off in the spectator section anyway. It takes a certain level of courage to step up to the plate in a way like this and stressing out about crashing would take all of the fun out of the equation. However, even though it’s not something that you might be worried about all the time, it’s definitely something that should be prepared for even though it might be an unlikely outcome.

This time, it’s a Honda Civic that is designed for long-distance land speed runs that is set up and ready to go to battle. Entering this particular pass, they were looking to have a 200mph display, allowing the car owner’s dad to be able to join that elusive club. However, as luck would have it, the pass wouldn’t end up going so smoothly and as the car accelerated ferociously, it would eventually end up sideways, rolling over out in the open an astonishing 12 1/2 times, leaving everybody on site to be on the edge of their seats as they would wonder what happened inside of that car and if the driver would be able to exit safely which probably looked quite doubtful, at the time.

However, he was able to pull out of the incident with his life, thankfully, and is able to tell his story today. As far as the crash goes, our hero says that he doesn’t really remember anything past third gear but the story of how he made it out in one piece and ended up recovering, as he would go down a long road to get to where he is today, is truly astonishing to listen to. As a race, this is a pretty important moment to take a look at as it really speaks to the importance of safety equipment, even if you think you’re never going to have to use it.
