How to Use The Flood Guard… Genius Car Cover For Floods!

With literally tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of vehicles damaged or destroyed just in the past couple of months by Hurricane’s Harvey and Irma, we have to believe this is a great time to be looking into your own flood protection for your vehicle. Many drivers were stuck with the tab after being told their insurance didn’t cover flooding caused by natural disasters, leaving them in quite the predicament.

Obviously everyone that was affected wouldn’t have had the foresight to order what amounts to a massive Zip Lock bag for their vehicle, so maybe a retailer like Home Depot or Lowe’s should consider stocking these, especially if they’re in an area that’s prone to flooding, with or without the aid of monster hurricanes dumping trillions of gallons of water for days on end. However, you get one, it seems like a good idea to keep something like the Flood Guard car bag on hand.

It’s simple to use, and seems like it would be a perfect solution to protect your car from impending flooding.

You simply lay out the bag and, after removing any antennas, folding in your mirrors and rolling the windows down, you drive into it like a huge plastic baggie, zip it up, then wrap the excess up like a burrito. Anchor it to something sturdy so it doesn’t float away, and you’re good to go, literally, come hell or high water, as Mama always said.

We actually went and checked out the Flood Guard website and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Medium sized bags are currently on sale for $233 and large versions are available for just under $300. The bags aren’t available in the US at the moment, but will be in just a few weeks. While that’s certainly not free, it’s a small price to pay for, as their tagline reads, Safety for your car, Peace for your mind.
