UPDATE (2:19 ET): Two people have been reported injured from the plane and no deaths have been reported.

Imagine rolling down the highway, going about your business, when all of a sudden, an airplane comes down right in front of you for a crash landing. It almost seems like something that you would see in a Hollywood action flick but as of right now, that is exactly what is happening on the 405 freeway in California as a plane that was headed for the John Wayne Airport was seen quickly falling out of the sky and simply could not make it to the airstrip, coming up short on the highway by no more than a few hundred feet.

As the video footage shows, the plane came down hard and he erupted into a ball of flames but as the coverage is live, we still don’t have any information about the people on board or anyone on the highway who might have gotten tangled up with the incident. All that we can do is hope that everyone involved will be able to walk away alright as emergency crews are frantically working away at getting everybody to where they need to be in getting the wreckage cleaned up. The trained professionals on the scene are doing the best that they can to make sure that everyone has the best chance of making it home safely.

This is really something that you wouldn’t expect to happen and would be difficult to prepare for but the emergency crews appear to be doing the best that they possibly can, sending all kinds of units to the scene to deal with the carnage created here. For now, all that we can do is follow along with the live report and wait on more data to become available but we will keep you updated as any revelations come to our desks.
