When repairing a $60,000 tractor tire is cheaper than replacing it!

Tractor tires are some of the most durable tires on the planet, but even they aren’t impervious to the occasional puncture. Luckily, there is a process that allows them to be repaired instead of having to buy replacement.

Think of patching the tire on your car, only on steroids! This technician walks us through the labor-intensive process looks like it takes several hours, but with the huge stresses placed on tires used on the farm or on construction sites, the process has to be incredibly strong and durable. From cleaning out the area around the puncture and creating a high-friction surface for the repair to adhere to, to applying liberal amounts of cement and replacement rubber to provide the strength needed for the job at hand, there is a lot of work to be done, but it’s much better than dropping another $60 grand for a new tire.

The technician clearly knows this process well, as he confidently rebuilds this section of damaged rubber from the inside out, leaving it looking almost brand new and ready to return to work.
